Chrisa (Chrysoula) Giannopoulou holds a BA in Balkan, Slavic and Oriental Studies from the University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, an MA in Human Rights from Essex University in the UK, and a PhD in Social Anthropology regarding the survival strategies of unaccompanied asylum-seeking minors in Greece (Department of Balkan, Slavic and Oriental Studies). In 2021 she completed her first post-doctoral research in the University of Aegean. Her work experience since 2003, includes working with several CSOs dealing with violations of human rights, regarding especially victims of torture, victims of trafficking and asylum seekers, and participation to the Asylum Appeals Committees.
